Easily one of the most wanted fish of the last few years, Scarlet Badis have everything you could want in a small nano fish. Colour, character and just the right amount of fascination make them a great choice for anybody looking for a group of fish for their small aquarium. Reaching only 2cm in length, you can keep a small group of them in a 30l aquarium without issues. As long as plenty of hiding places are provided, you will have a happy group of fishes to entertain you.
Found in clear water, densely planted streams with a sandy gravel substrate, they really are a great choice for a planted tank. The ideal setup should include plants such as Rotala and Vallisneria to provide the best sense of security for these tiny fish.
If breeding the Dario dario is what you wish to achieve, this can be done in a mature community aquarium but for best results, a separate tank should be offered. As a substrate spawner, the eggs will be attached to the underside of leaves. It is the male that defends the spawning site but should be removed before the eggs hatch to avoid being eaten.
All our fish are quarantined on arrival for two weeks. During this time, we treat for any health issues that may occur during transport and ensure each fish is eating well and looking healthy. All fish are treated with Flubendazole before finally going on sale.
