We would not recommend this ivy for aquarium use, but try your hand at caring for them in vivarium and riparium environments.
Native to Indonesia and Malaysia. Red-flame is a herb that grows up to 30cm (12 inches) in length. Its stems are prostrate and purplish. Leaves are dark green on the top and lighter or purplish-green on the lower face. Learning how to grow Red-flame is simple once you have it in the right location. With this plant in your care, it requires bright, but indirect light. Meaning direct sunlight should not reach the foliage. Because when grown in direct sun, much of the ripe reds wash out and leaf tips can turn as crispy as chips. Keep in mind to grow away from drafts as well. Red-flame needs evenly moist soil. But, do not allow the roots of the plant to remain in soggy soil. Consistent watering of well-drained soil promotes growth and well-being. Humidity is an integral part of red ivy plant care. Mist Red-flame plants, or better yet, try creating a pebble tray to provide humidity.
