The Green Neon Tetra is very similar to the more common Neon Tetra however unlike its cousins, the Green Neon Tetra is only found in blackwater habitats. This unique element to the fish makes them a great choice for anyone who is looking for a bit of colour in a blackwater aquarium.
Ideally, a heavily planted aquarium with various branches and lots of leaf litter will provide a natural habitat which offers a lot of natural food sources. Leaf litter provides a home for tiny crustaceans and insects which makes up the core of the Green Neon Tetras diet. The addition of live foods like daphnia or bloodworm will ensure your fish have a healthy diet.
These fish are not bred commercially so all of the Green Neon Tetras in the hobby have been caught wild. There is no information available on breeding these little fish but as egg scatterers, it may be possible in a mature aquarium with lots of plants,
All our fish are quarantined on arrival for two weeks. During this time, we treat for any health issues that may occur during transport and ensure each fish is eating well and looking healthy. All fish are treated with Flubendazole before finally going on sale.
