One of the most widespread of the Bacopa species, Monnieri has an extreme case of the travel bug (the only pest you don’t have to worry about.) Bacopa Monnieri has spread throughout tropical regions all over the world. It is a perennial creeping, non-aromatic herb, belonging to the wetlands and marshes. It can even grow in brackish (slightly salty) conditions, such as river estuaries. The leaves of this plant are succulent and oblong. Stems grow 10 - 30cm ( 4 - 12 inches) in height. And, when grown above water, it produces small, white flowers. Bacopa monnieri does prefer a nutrient-rich environment and requires moderate to high light. It propagates through cuttings which take root in the substrate with ease.
