Native to Central and South America, Dwarf Sword is a medium-sized Chain Sword. Perfect in the fore to mid-ground of smaller planted aquariums or even nano tanks. Plant in fine gravel substrate and provide them with nutrients to encourage growth. Dwarf Sword is part of the Alismataceae family. They are fast growers so trim back for a neat lawn look. Propagate through runners. Separate stems from the mother plant to replant in different parts of the aquarium. Submerged leaves are narrow and light green. They grow 10 – 30 cm (4 – 12 inches) tall. Their lanceolate shape creates a nice contrast from other plants in your aquarium. This plant does best with Co2 supplementation.
