Bleeding Heart Tetra

Bleeding Heart Tetra (Hyphessobrycon erythostigma) is a tetra from the Upper Amazon Basin. They grow to around 60mm in the home aquarium. These stunning fish get there name from the markings on its body, as seen in this photo it looks like a bleeding heart.
These are a good beginner fish as they are relatively peaceful and considerably hardy.
They do well in planted aquariums and the use of rocks and wood will help mimic natural water ways and make them feel more comfortable. These are easy to feed accepting most prepared foods, including frozen and small live foods.
Soft slightly acidic water will keep them at their best.
