Liquid Neutral Regulator® adjusts pH to neutral (pH 7.0) from either a low or high pH and maintains it there. It softens water by precipitating calcium and magnesium while removing any chlorine, chloramine, and detoxifying ammonia. The use of Liquid Neutral Regulator® makes other conditioning unnecessary. To lower pH below 7.0 use Liquid Neutral Regulator® with Acid Regulator™ (or Discus Buffer®). To raise pH above 7.0 use with Alkaline Regulator™. All of these products will enhance and stabilize the freshwater aquarium environment.
Directions
Use 1 capful (5 mL) for every 10 L (2.5 US gallons) once or twice a month (or as necessary to maintain a pH of 7.0). Liquid Neutral Regulator® may be added directly to the aquarium at any time. Very hard water may require a double or triple dose.
Contains phosphate buffers and conditioning agents. Safe for all freshwater fish acclimated to neutral pH.
FAQ
After 1 week of continued use, the pH is still running basic - 7.4. The water turns cloudy when it is added.
A: From the information you provided about cloudy water I am assuming that you have very hard water. It is completely normal for the water to cloud as Neutral Regulator® is trying to soften the water. Neutral Regulator® is designed to work for the general water municipalities. In unusually high KH conditions it may be necessary to add more (directions state to add as necessary) Neutral Regulator® to combat the KH buffering system that is most likely found in your water. It is a competition between the two buffers, Neutral Regulator® is trying to bring your pH down and the high KH (that is most likely found in your water) is trying to bring pH up. This is a situation that does not occur often. You may have to add a stronger dose (at one time, Neutral Regulator® is non toxic) to bring pH down or in the rare situation you may need to use Acid Buffer to bring down your hardness.
