Chocolate Gouramis are lovely little peaceful fish that inhabits peat swamps and blackwater areas. Ideally, their aquarium should also be a blackwater style display to encourage the most natural behaviour. Their colours make them a great addition to any aquarium.
Known as a micro predator, the Chocolate Gourami will spend most of its time searching for food among the scattered leaves and branches. Providing live foods like brine shrimp or daphnia is advised. Additionally, supplement their diet with quality dry food with high protein.
Breeding the Chocolate Gourami can be done either with a single pair or a small group. We recommend setting up a dedicated breeder tank with a group of one male with 2-3 females.
All our fish are quarantined on arrival for two weeks. During this time, we treat for any health issues that may occur during transport and ensure each fish is eating well and looking healthy. All fish are treated with Flubendazole before finally going on sale.
